New Blog, New Me

As the title states this is a new blog for a new me. Not new in the sense that I had some life changing epiphany and now I'm a different man. I'm new simply because a large amount of time has passed since I last kept a blog. The contrast between my old posts and my current would not have been appropriate. The old me didn't even have a smart phone. I mean c'mon.

I'm amazed everyday at how much smart phones have changed social interaction and how quickly they have done it. Sells of smart phones continue to surpass those of traditional phones. as my friend Chris noted today. It seems like everyday one of my friends joins the fold. My dad has even started talking about how "cool" they are.

For Me the best/worst part is that I can now feed my social networking addiction any place any time. I can Facebook/Google+/Tweet/FourSquare/Latitude in the middle of no where. I can see bears and what you had for dinner last night all in the same place. Truly this is what our forefathers must have imagined when they thought about the future. Seriously though it is a bit ridiculous but it does have its upsides. Without a smart phone I never would have owned a star map and even if I had I wouldn't have been able to read it.

I spent a year unemployed. It showed me how little I can actually live on. It also showed me that the unemployment system is broken in a bad way. I found employment and learned what it means to appreciate your job even if it sucks. It would always be nice to make more money but sometimes its good just to be able to make money no matter the amount.

So yea, New Blog. New Me. Different Me.
